Holy Cross Students’ Home, Ghanpur, is the most recent formation house to be opened in South India and began in June 2002 with 8 candidates from the State of Andhra Pradesh. This house is linked with the parish that too was entrusted to Holy Cross at the same time. Holy Cross accepted this invitation as part of its efforts to diversify its ministries in South India and also to foster vocations to Holy Cross from this state. Fr. Joseph Gaspar was the first Rector of this formation house and we are still in the process of establishing the infrastructure required for the formation program. Fr. Sahayaraj Gali was the next rector. Now we have 20 PUC candidates Here, too, as in the other houses, the students are doing their pre-university studies commuting to a diocesan run junior college. They also render their services to the parish of Ghanpur dedicated to Our Lady and named Nirmala Matha parish.
